Apparently “winter” squash does not refer to the season in which it is grown. There are cool season crops, like Little Gem Romaine Lettuce and Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard, and warm season crops, like Beefsteak Tomatoes and Georgia Rattlesnake Watermelons.
